The Pioneer Woman challenged her readers to edit a photo she took.

All I did was crop the photo and boost the color, change the curve of color, adjusted the hot and cold areas. I didn’t do much. I tried to add a warm layer to the photo, tried sepia, tried a vignette. I didn’t really like any of it. But I highly doubt I win the contest or that I’ll even get a mention, but it was a fun idea. I hope she does more of them.

Here is my second edit of the photo. I wanted it to feel warm and fuzzy. So I changed the lighting to more golden and blurred the edges. I also added a vignette.

The Pioneer Woman did another Photography Assignment this week. The theme – Landscapes.

I was blown away by the competition. She needs to choose more semi-finalist for today and tomorrow, but I don’t think I will be chosen. Sigh. A lot of the photos look like they are done by serious professional photographers. Many of them have the photographer’s logo on them. Ummm, yeah, that’s not me. Not professional. City of Rocks, Idaho.  I don’t know these people, but loved them and their matching red coats.

I could submit one more, but I think I’m done with being rejected.  However, I don’t think these photos are bad, but when you look at the ones being submitted, well  . . .  lets just say that I need some practice.

The week Pioneer Woman has given us the assignment of Macro photography.  That is getting really close up to something.  They even have special lenses for this, but I don’t have one – yet.  Here are my submissions.  To see the pool click here.

Last week, the Pioneer Woman did another photography challenge.  It was Green.  I was unprepared.  And to top it off, winter has descended on us with a vengeance and so I could go out and shoot some new photos.  Here is what I submitted:

They aren’t too bad, but compared to the finalists (check them out here) my pictures are piddly at best. Sigh. Guess that means I need to practice and practice and practice some more.

I was planning on doing just that, but this snow and rain is driving my batty and ruining my photography plans for Spring break. Oh well.

I read a blog called The Pioneer Woman.  Every once in a while, she challenges us to a photography assignment.  This week it is a Sunset/Sunrise photo.

I might submit another one, but I’m not sure.  It is cloudy, rainy, and snowy all week this week.  That equals zero sunshine for photo’s.  But, if it clears up, then I will take some photo’s, edit, and submit.
