I succumbed and bought . . . .

Okay, okay, I just couldn’t help myself.  I was looking at all the new things that Aperture 3 has and I bought it.  Well . . . the upgrade.

I was going through the website and looking at all the changes they were making, when this caught my eye -

What?!  200 + new features.  Well, I had to check that out.  And they really are adding new things and making it easier to navigate around it.  But what really convinced me where these two features:

Wow!  As of right now, to retouch a face in Aperture 2 is a bit of a tricky process, one that I don’t really attempt.  However, Apple has realized that a lot (okay the majority) of professional photographers make their money by doing weddings and portraits.  Both of which, people want to look their best and may want their wrinkles or pimples or freckles taken out.

Done.

Next, when I want to adjust the color in an image, I have to modify everywhere in the photo that has that color.  So, for example, if I want to darken the blue in the sky, then all the blue in the picture will darken, which could change the color of everything else.  But, now with Aperture 3, you can use a brush to apply the adjustments, just to the part of the picture you want.  See below:

The brush is in the upper right corner of picture.  I’m so excited to try this one out!

But, the real kicker.  The real thing that pushed me over the edge was this:

Holy cow!  I can tint and color only certain parts of my pictures!  I’m sold.  You do it with a brush, plus Aperture can detect edges, so you don’t have to be perfect with the brush.

So, yeah.  I bought it. Right then and there, after I stopped yelling out – “That is so cool!”  It should be here by Saturday.  Expect some pretty awesome photo’s coming up while I experiment with all of these cool new features.  All 200+ of them!
