Single Gal Cooks Steak

So, my local grocery store had Petite Sirloin Steak on sale for $1.99.  So, I had to buy some.  And of course they only had it in the mega package.  So, mega package I bought.  And quickly divided it up into little bags, because single gals like me can only eat one at a time.

Problem: I don’t have a grill.  So I bought this awesome grill pan!

Another problem: I’ve never cooked a steak.  I bought marinade, but didn’t want to wait for it to actually marinate.  So I used some spices: salt, pepper, Cajun seasoning, and seasoned salt.  It was a little much, but I sprinkled lightly and so it wasn’t too much.

Problem: How do you cook a steak?  I called my mother and she wasn’t sure because she has never cooked a steak on a grill pan.  So I guessed.  Medium heat, turn over 3 times, about 5-6 minutes per side.

With steak, I bought Caesar salad and french bread.  Yumm!

For dessert – Double Chocolate Chip Muffins.

I couldn’t wait and ate one while my steak was cooking.  Yummmmm chocolate (so much for lent).

This steak was cooked to perfection.  I wish you could have smelled it and heard my mmmm sounds.

Now, I know that I can cook steak – without a grill – and without a man.  Although, I still would like both of those things one day.
