When I got back from Florida, my students asked me this question, “Did you see an alligator?” Not one student, not two students, but lots and lots of students.
Answer: Yes. I saw lots of alligators. And they were boring, didn’t move, and looked fake. And they were everywhere!
We saw alligators at the Kennedy Space Center. This was actually the first we saw. At the time we were so excited and didn’t realize that this would be fairly normal by the end of the week.

We also went to the Wildlife Reserve. Here is a close up of another.
None of these aligators moved. Not one. Not even blink. They were quite boring. Although I know that they can move fast – but I just didn’t see it and I can’t really picture it. Oh well.
We also saw a lot of birds!
The Wildlife Reserve that is owned by NASA is home to 19 active eagle’s nests. I didn’t see an eagle, but we saw three nests. One was bigger than a king-sized mattress and weighs over 700 pounds.
We saw lots of pink birds. I love pink birds! I want a pink bird.
There were even birds hanging out in Disney World.
We went to the Animal Kingdom in Disney World. We went on the “Safari” ride and let me tell you – it was awesome! I saw more animals up close on the ride than I ever have in a zoo.

Elephants. I actually saw about 6, but I didn’t get real good pictures.
Ostriches. I love them! I always thought I looked like an ostrige. Long legs and big bellies.

Bats – they are huge!
Tigers – I didn’t get a good picture of it, but this tiger kept jumping on the glass. He was way friendly.
I saw many more animals and have many more pictures, but I thought that this was enough. ;0)
