Christmas Letter

Well, it is now December 31st and I never did send out my Christmas Cards with my annual Christmas Letter.  Sigh!  I’m trying so very hard to be a grown up and do those type of grown up things, but life just keeps getting in the way.  Between working two jobs, Christmas hub-bub, and fighting what I thought was a sinus infection, which turned out to be an abscess in my tooth, a swollen face, and three vicodins later the Christmas Cards just never made it on the table of things that needed to be done.  So, instead, I’m going to post my Christmas Letter here.  I was going to do a picture of my Christmas Card, but I may reuse it for next year.

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you and your families happy and well.  I can’t believe another year has flown by.
This year started a little bit rocky for me.  In January, I was told that our school might have had to cut three teachers and that they wouldn’t know until May 15.  For those five months I worried and worried.  However, our school ended up only cutting one teacher, and thankfully, I was able to keep my job for the 2009-2010 school year.

Around March, I finished my Masters Degree in Education.  It has been a long two years of working on 10 – 20 page research papers, group projects, and case studies.  My MEd was focused on Reading Curriculum Instruction and Design.

I didn’t go to any exotic places this year in my travels, but I did enjoy not having to work this summer.  Ahh, the perks of being a teacher.  I did visit family in Idaho and Washington and did not sleep in my own bed for a month.

I have started a new hobby – photography.  I bought my first DSLR camera and professional editing software.  I really love it!

I also completely redesigned my website.  I am trying to post several times a week.  I am including on the website posts about teaching and photography.  If you want to check it out here is the web address: www.TheStepfordChild.com My website is the best way to see what is going on in my life.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas with your families!
