So, I love winter. I really do love winter. It is my favorite season.
So, this week every single day has reached below 10 degrees. And we’re not talking about being 6 degrees in the middle of the night, but 6 degrees in the evening while I’m standing outside singing Christmas Music (but more on that tomorrow). Yesterday, the low was 2 degrees! Whoo hooo – that’s not cold, that’s frigid!
So, while it may look like this . . .
I try to think of these times . . .
My feet in the sand on a Florida beach. I was so sunburned that I didn’t get in the water, or take off my shirt, or even wear a swimming suit that day.
Enjoying a Diet Pepsi in the middle of a rain forest in Puerto Rico.
The sunset in the Caribbean.
Collapsing on my bed in Rome and loving the fact that I packed a fan throughout Europe.
Climbing all 500 steps up the Eiffel Tower and wishing I could lay down and die from the heat.
And then I think of the heat blisters I got in Europe on my leg. That is the 2nd time in my life I’ve had heat blisters in my life. The first time was in a much worse place and we aren’t talking about that here . . .
But, I think about all these awfully, terrible times where my skin felt burned, my blood felt like it was boiling inside of me, and I wanted to strip off all my clothes and run naked.
And I am thankful for the 6 degrees. In fact, I’m reveling in it!
Bring it on! I’ll enjoy it while I have it because in about 7 months, I’ll be wanting to kill myself because of the heat.
