Okay, so I have to admit. I love Fox’s new show Glee. Yup, I’m a “Gleek.” But I have to say that it took me a good 6 episodes to really get into the show. I think what I like about it is how over-the-top, crazy, exploiting of stereotypes it is – just like high school. Oh wait! It is about high school students and teachers. Of coarse I have a connection to it. Duh! I love the drama and ridiculousness of it all. It really is Genius. If you’ve never watched it, let me give you a rundown of the characters. And at the end of this post, I made a little mix of songs to give you a taste.
First, we have Rachel. The star of Glee Club. She is the Diva. She likes Finn . . .
. . . who is a football star, and closet singer. He likes Rachel too, but he has a girlfriend . . .
. . . Quinn, who is the cheer leading captain (known as Cherrios). She tells Finn she’s pregnant and he’s the dad, even though they’ve never had sex. The real father of the baby is . . .
. . . Puck. Finn’s best friend and veritable “bad boy” of the show. He wants to take care of Quinn and the baby, but Quinn might give her baby to . . .

. . . Terri, Mr. Shuester’s wife. She is pretending to have a baby so that Mr. Shuester . . .
. . . doesn’t leave her. Mr. Shuester is in charge of Glee club, after having been in it himself in high school. He is constantly battling . . .
. . . Sue, the coach of the Cherrios. She wants to take Glee club down and is always devising schemes to break them apart. While . . .
. . . Miss Pillsbury, the guidance counselor, is in love with Mr. Shuester, but he’s married. She is OCD and instead agrees to marry the football coach, as long as they don’t live together, she doesn’t take his name, and he doesn’t touch her.
Kurt is the token gay kid.
Artie is the token handicapped kid – he’s in a wheelchair.
Mercedes is the token black girl – and boy you should hear the pipes on her. Oh wait you will, if you listen to the mix I made.
And Tina is the token Asian.
Each week brings more hilarity and great musical numbers. I liked them so much that I bought the CD. It was staring at me from the WalMart shelf and I just had to get it. I don’t regret it. I hope you enjoy the mix I made.

I’ll definitely be getting Volume 2 when it comes out!

Me too! Me too! That is one of the shows we refuse to miss each week!
I must admit, I too like this show. I loved your creative explanation of the show and characters. It made me smile.
