Look! I’m Famous!

So, for kicks and giggles I decided to see if I was in the BYU Library – and yes I am! This is a paper I wrote for a folklore class. It was a huge project. Below is the library record. I feel almost like a published author! Plus, someone actually had to read my 50 page paper to do the summary and then I don’t know where they got the info for the bio sections! Ha!

Summary:	Collection of stories about the prank called snipe hunting. The prank consists of one group of young men or young women taking another group outdoors in search of the nonexistent animal, called a snipe. Morris relates how this game is often played by young member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during retreats and camps. Morris differentiates between types of snipe hunting and the reasons behind them. She concludes by relating the stories to William Bascom’s four functions of folklore.

Biographical sketch:	Morris was born in West Valley, Utah. She majored in English and received a minor in Computers and Humanities at Brigham Young University.
